Welcome to the Spiral Foundation at OTA-Watertown!

The Spiral Foundation is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2002 with a mission to further the understanding of sensory processing disorder (SPD), formerly known as sensory integration dysfunction, through research and community education.

Our research includes a study of adults who are sensory "over-responders" and a study of children that measures treatment effectiveness through functional, individualized goals and objectives. Our community education initiatives include presentations for teachers to help them recognize and understand SPD, monthly parent support sessions, educational conferences for healthcare professionals, and the production of a video, When Our Senses Don't Make Sense, which highlights the challenges faced by individuals with SPD.
